Fundamental:
For parts with critical flatness dimensions such as engine covers, water tanks for radiators etc, deformation is a problem can not be ignored.
To solve the deformation problem, one of the methods is to fix the warp by using a cooling jig after molding.
Another challenging method is the so called pre-compensation or pre-deformation method. This technology takes into consideration the deformation parameters in advance of producing the actual plastic component. To explain the method in laymen’s terms, the mould has the deformation machined into it so that the plastic part that is ejected is within the specified drawing flatness tolerances.
Key Technology:
The key to Pre-compensation technology is how to determine the compensation/deformation parameter and how to minimize any adjustments to get the best compensation result.
Computer simulation analysis (CAE) like Mold flow can forecast and provide guidance for the parameters, but the CAE results usually have the differences with the actual results, which means the parameters from CAE cannot be used alone for the successful result of pre-compensation machined into the mold.
To eliminate the “difference” between CAE and practice, we have to take into consideration the “difference theory” which is two similar products under the same process, the differences between calculating results and actual results are the same (of course, how to circles the “similarity” needs experience accumulated). After the “difference value” or the regulation is found, we can use CAE results plus the “difference value” or regulation to get accurate parameters applied for the practice. Basically – Zeit Mould have accumulated enough experience to enable the successful manufacture of mould tools to eliminate the differences between moulds produced for jig use or moulds manufactured for mass production and no need for the use of jigs.

Innovation: Over the last 3 years Zeit Mould has mastered the technology of manufacturing high tolerance flatness components. Our R&D department has enabled approval of parts with high tolerance dimensions for deformation within three trials.
As a result, we will continuously our related theory and enrich our database ,we are able to apply the technology on different moulds to improve product quality and efficiency in production. |
